About James Gibson

James Norris Gibson was born into the Southern California Aerospace Industry. His father was a senior engineer on the Apollo program and then a Senior principal Engineer on the Space Shuttle. Thus, at a young age he began studying missiles, rockets and Space technology. After learning he was partially color blind, and thus Officers Candidate school was out of the question, he went on to Engineering school.

Mr. Gibson says he is a survivor of numerous liberal educational experiments. Regardless of New Math and liberal arts, he somehow succeeded in earning a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Masters in Aerospace Engineering, his Fundamentals in Engineering License, and a certificate in Technical Writing.

The Bush Senior recession of the late 80s, lasted in California well into the 90s. Working as a contract Technical Writer he started getting short term jobs at Toshiba or Kia Motors. His big break then occurred in 1995 when McDonnell Douglas needed an Engineer with a Technical Writing back ground for the International Space Station project. It was supposed to be a short term contract, but he ended up working for Douglas for two years until Boeing bought out the company in 1998. At that time he became a full time employee, a position he then held until 2009 and the Great Recession.

In his time at Boeing/Douglas he provided Engineering support for the Delta II, III and IV launch vehicles; the C-17, the MD-90/717, the International Space Station and the Space Shuttle. He is now a skilled engineer on mechanical fasteners and the joining of primary structure.
In the late 80s he published his first book on US Nuclear Weapons. The book was a response to what he saw as a series of errors in books and literature put out by Anti-nuclear groups during the 1980s. In the late 90s he published his second book on the subject, plus a book on the Secret Navaho program his father worked on in the 1950s. While researching the Navaho he discovered numerous old films in the National Archives. He has since put out You-Tubes of these films and worked on others to preserve this aspect of American history.

As a result of the Great Recession and the general job market, in 2015 Mr. Gibson left California for Texas. He is unmarried
